Dorel Sports exits Cannondale own brand stores

Dorel Sports has moved to close its own brand bike stores, with three Cannondale branded branches now closed.

Linked to a consolidation of the business reported last August, the closures were planned as part of a drive to ensure future profitability. At the time it was revealed that 4% of the global workforce would be trimmed saving around $5 million per year.

Craig Hasenstab, a general manager of one of the stores shared his thoughts yesterday stating: “In what was a relatively short time (we) made a strong impact on our markets and their cycling communities. We built a great following of loyal, happy customers and fans through an innovative and unique approach to cycling retail. I offer profound thanks to all who have supported the venture that has been the highlight of my professional career thus far.”
