EDCO business gets moving again under new management
Following an unsettled period for the EDCO business in August of 2017, during which the firm was declared bankrupt, the CEO has now issued a statement declaring itself very much back in business and under new management.
The firm is now managed by 3e oem Sports AG from Seeshaupt near Munich. Florian Felsch, the CEO, has announced that development and production of bicycle components has resumed in full flow.
“By now EDCO is already testing new products. As early as this year the company will launch wheels with spokes made completely of carbon composite. A ground-breaking product that is eagerly awaited by the market,” said Felsch.
“The historic brand is one of the oldest and most famous producers of high-performance bicycle parts”, the CEO adds.
As far back as 1902 the former machine manufacturer began to produce bike components. During the past decades EDCO manufactured different high-end parts, ranging from valves to brakes, but now specialises in premium-quality wheels. In recent years those lines have primarily been carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer products.
Richard Eakins of UK distributor Cambrian Tyres told CI.N: “Cambrian is pleased to continue as the UK distributor for EDCO. Under new management 2018 promises to be an exciting year for EDCO with new products in testing and revisions to the existing range. We are actively looking to increase our dealer network and will continue to support a bricks and mortar approach.”
