Electric bike exports to UK from Taiwan surge 66%, U.S.A 69%

Electric bike exports data handed to CI.N from the Taiwan Bicycle Association has revealed shipments from the East Asian island to the UK have grown by 65.89% year-on-year when comparing data captured from January to September.

Continuing to reap the benefits of regulations that have stunted neighbouring China’s electric bike exports, Taiwan and Europe alike have enjoyed picking up the slack in recent times and the latest data has the UK’s USD($) value up 83.9% year-on-year, reaching $23,554,234 million.

In the broader context of European trade the export growth is a standout, beaten only by Italy’s 150% year-to-year import volume growth and Germany’s 78.8% advance.

So far in 2021, the UK has imported 11,350 units from Taiwan, up from 6,842 in 2020. The average price attached to exports of the electric bikes sat 10% up at $1,063.
