Ere Research debuts no mess biodegradable sealant

Ere Research has thrown its hat into the sealants ring, debuting ProClose, a four size range suitable for home or workshop use.

Supplied with a valve core remover so that the process can be tubes and syringe free, the product is designed to be mess free and low-impact. The solution is said to be entirely biodegradable and containing no ammonia, nor latex. Ready for retail and workshop, the bottle sizes are 80, 150, 250 and 500ml; each supplied with a filler cap to help mechanics dispense the solution.

With non-toxic ingredients making up the formula, Ere Research says its sealant has a lengthy shelf life, claiming a minimum of 26 months or longer. The product can be put to use with both inner tube and tubeless setups.

To complement the launch Ere Research will also add to the range a ProClose Rim Tape line, which comes as standard on its wheelsets. This rim tape has been widened marginally in order to better deliver an air seal that stops sealant from escaping. Three variants of this 10-metre long tape are available, catering for 21, 23 and 25mm rims.

Finally, to complete the offering, Ere Research is also adding a new CNC machined tubeless valve line in a trio of sizes – 40, 50 and 60mm. Installed easily with an Allen Key, a serrated edge on the valve cap’s outer is said to make it easy to unscrew the core.

The mind behind Ere, Peter van der Velde, has a long history working on matching up tyres and wheelsets, so its a natural step for the brand to also fill the void in between.

The ProClose sealant will begin at €8.95 and the rim tape at €22.95. Ere Research is brought into the UK via Oneway Bike, contactable on +31 10 340 3500.
