FLi Distribution ceases trading

Sources have confirmed that FLI Distribution has ceased trading with effect from this week.

The difficult trading conditions facing cycling and many industries are thought to have played their part, including the post Covid-lockdown disruption and the impact of Brexit and the complexities it brought to EU/UK trading.

Fli had a long relationship with KTM. It worked as KTM’s UK agent for bicycles and eBikes, with the bikes supplied to dealers direct from KTM’s Austria facility. However in 2021, following the shifting trade deals between the UK and EU, FLi stepped in to also handle KTM’s P&A distribution in the UK, which was “no longer financially sustainable” for the group. Then, in April of this year, KTM and Fli Distribution parted ways.

The sad fate of Fli Distribution follows a number of high profile cycle industry companies closing this year. Fellow distributors Moore Large and 2pure closed earlier in 2023. Consumer-facing brands like Planet X and ProBikeKit have been more fortunate, with buyers swooping in to save them from closure.

Huddersfield-based FLi had been in business for 15 years, incorporated close to the time of the financial crisis of 2008/2009 (on 31 March 2008).
