FOCUS Bikes’ endurance PARALANE promises comfort and speed
Hot on the heels of the new race-focused Izalco Max, Focus Bikes has launched the new carbon PARALANE, pitched as a comfortable, durable but also modern and aerodynamic road bike.
PARALANE comes in three models, priced from £2,899, and leans to endurance while also impressing in terms of speed and aerodynamics, says FOCUS.
The comfort levels come from its geometry and frame flex. The frame is designed around a standard round 27,2m seat post, providing options to dial in the ideal fit. FOCUS’ refined CIS road stem is available in six lengths from 70-120mm, and switching between them is convenient without opening any brake lines.
It sports a dedicated fender set designed to blend in with the look and aerodynamics of the bike. It works with tyres up to 33mm (all models come with 32mm), doesn’t rattle and is long enough to keep riders behind you dry. It is attached to special axles which are included in the fender set and to the removable seat stay bridge which is included in the bike itself, all for a clean look.
The size M frame tips the scale at 1,130 grams, with an approved system weight of 120kg. Suited to fast-paced bikepacking, there’s also a BSA bottom bracket, removable front derailleur mount and standard derailleur hanger also used by other brands.
The cockpit area sees cables hidden below the stem, an integrated bike computer mount (compatible with Wahoo and Garmin) and there’s an opportunity to plonk a light or action camera. Hidden cables make room to carry a handbag to store long ride essentials and there’s thread inserts on the top tube.
And there’s a dedicated frame protection sticker sheet for all models. The truncated NACA tube shapes are utilised too. There’s a bunch more info available direct from FOCUS.
