gogeta launch BikeNow – a faster tax free bike scheme solution

gogeta, the tax free bike scheme provider, has announced the launch of its new BikeNow product, developed to help retailers get their customers onto tax free bikes more easily and quickly.

The business aims to harness the power of enthusiastic customers, to promote the tax free scheme with their employers, regardless of whether the employer already has a scheme in place or not.

gogeta sees 2 use cases for BikeNow.

  1. For customers where their employer does not already have a scheme. In this case the customer can make it really easy for their employer, by doing the work for them and presenting a solution. A customer can have a voucher and redeem with a retailer in a day.
  2. Where the customer’s employer may already have a tax free scheme but it is not offering the best choice or value for some employees. For example they want a bike from a retailer who does not accept that scheme due to the very high commission charged.

In the second example, the retailer can present BikeNow to meet their customers specific needs, without their employer first needing to go through the time consuming process of selecting a new scheme provider.

BikeNow is not looking to replace the current scheme (which takes time), but instead provide an additional solution for employees whose needs are not met by the current scheme in place.

“We see the BikeNow proposition as a very exciting addition to the services and support we offer customers. Being able to provide a solution for customers is something we always strive for. We will be using BikeNow as a way to quickly and easily help customers get what they want, and benefit from the tax savings.”

Mark Brown, gogeta Sales Director explains: “With BikeNow we wanted to empower customers and our retail partners. We know that it can be employee demand which prompts employers to sign-off on the scheme. Employers are more likely to respond positively to an employee request.”

Brown continues: “We developed BikeNow as an easy way for customers to apply to join the scheme, simply by getting a quote from a bike shop and converting this to an order with their employer. gogeta does all the heavy lifting once the customer submits their quote on our system.”

For bike retailers BikeNow is a way to easily harness the benefit of the tax free bike scheme, and use it as a conversion tool. And gogeta’s ultra low commissions ensure all sales are always profitable.

Major retailers and IBD’s already signed up to gogeta

gogeta has already announced a number of new retail partnerships as it continues to expand. Latest partners include Sigma Sports, JE James, Cycle Revolution, Hoops Velo, and The Bicycle Chain, as well as bike brands Cowboy and Factor. These join a growing network of hundreds of retail partners, who have signed with gogeta since it launched earlier this summer.

A better deal for customers and retailers

gogeta are totally transparent about the fact that instead of charging retailers a big amount, they charge both employees and retailers a small amount each: An equitable fee structure brings the biggest savings for all.

  • Employees are charged a 4% platform fee per voucher (which after salary sacrifice saving is c.2.5%).
  • Barry states that, “retailers are charged the lowest fees in the industry, by miles”. In return retailers pass on their best pricing to users, including all available discounts, with no added fees.

“By doing this gogeta can harness marketplace savings with salary sacrifice tax benefits on top, to get our users unheard of savings. The more affordable we make bikes, the more people who will ride, and that’s good for you, your community and the environment.”
