GoPro to relaunch Karma drone “later in 2017”
GoPro is to relaunch its troubled Karma drone later in 2017, the firm has told press at the CES show in Las Vegas.
Set to fend off a lawsuit alleging investor deception, the Karma drone faced a huge recall shortly after its launch into the market following a string of in flight power losses causing the unit to fall out of the sky.
Originally hitting the market in September 2016, the $799 drone sold around 2,500 units.
The company’s poor string of luck has forced a layoff of 15% of the global workforce as the business restructures ahead of a hoped return to profit. The Entertainment division has also now closed.
