Handmade show Bespoked heads for Germany this October

The Bespoked handmade bike show that has for more than a decade drawn artisan bike makers to Bristol has announced a first showing on mainland Europe, taking to Dresden in Germany from October 13th to 15th.

Applications to the event opened last week, with the event aiming to showcase and develop a thriving culture of small independent bicycle manufacturers in central Europe in the same way as it has in the UK over the last decade.

“There are hundreds of small independent manufacturers of super high-end bikes spread across central Europe, making incredible work that deserves to be seen! We want to bring these makers to the fore, and work with them, as well as a handful of larger and more established brands to bring the European handmade and independent bike scene to a global audience,” said Petor Georgallou, the shows creative director, plus Founder of Dear Susan Bicycles.

The show’s organisers have pledged to put on an event that is sustainable in its construction and operation, leans on local food and drink suppliers and builds in talks, plus rideouts for visitors.

Handmade bicycle shows are in frustratingly short supply globally with Covid proving an insurmountable barrier to the North American Handmade Bicycle Show’s return, though in its place came a new launch announced in November last year under the MADE banner.
