Howies appoint distributor to drive cycle clothing through bike stores

Howies has today announced the appointment of Unify Brand Partnerships as its new sole agent for driving its cycling goods through bike stores.

Since restarting wholesale in 2016, the Welsh clothing brand now supplies to a mix of multiples and independents. Also in the same year Howies removed all PFC’s and anti bacterial treatments from its clothing, opting to use Merino natural and recycled fibres to create high-tech, lower-impact alternatives to lycra.

Unify Brand Partnerships is a Wales-based sport and fashion agency and distribution business, representing a diverse range of brands. Employing 10 full-time employees across its head office and external sales team, the business works with a number of leading regional sales agencies throughout the UK and Ireland.

Howies sales director Ade Gunn-Wilson said: “Wholesale has now grown to a size where we need a partner who can support our existing accounts, respond more quickly to new enquiries and approach new stores we’d like to work with. Damian and his team understand our brand ethics and they have the people who will increase our reach. On top of that, Unify are based on our side of the Severn Bridge. With consumers so focused on buying products that have an environmental story we are excited to be getting Unify’s support to seed our range into more stores.”

Unify Brand Partnerships will begin selling howies SS19 fashion and active collections from June onwards, and will be targeting 20 new accounts for SS19.
