Industry veteran and frame builder Norris Lockley passes away

Norris Lockley died on 10 October at the age of 87.

He was well known in the industry from the mid ’70s when he set up Dales Cycles in Settle North Yorkshire, moving into importing and working as the agent for Corima, and ultimately become a full time frame builder in his retirement – building the Bespoke range of frames.

He was also instrumental in securing sponsorship for Chris Boardman’s first – and successful – world hour record in 1993.

He was active on the forums until his death, and his passing has caused an outpouring of tributes on the net. His family wanted other people in the industry who knew him to know.

His funeral takes place at Brocklands.co.uk on Tuesday 24th October 2023 at 11.00am.

Cycling Industry News passes on its condolences to his family and friends.
