Ion parent Boards & More buys SQlab

The SQlab brand has been bought out by sports equipment supplier Boards & More, the parent to cycling protective gear label Ion, according to reports in Europe.

Located only five kilometres apart, both companies aim to continue working with bicycle dealers, with the Boards & More Group supporting SQlab in its mission to increase its international presence.

SQlab founder Tobias Hild will remain at the company as Managing Director and will lead the SQlab team. Hild said: “We have numerous ideas up our sleeve and want to make optimal use of the strong growth, especially of the past year. Our goal is now to realize several larger projects that we have been working on for a long time. With Boards & More we have found the right partner for this. Both companies complement each other very well in important areas.”

Till Eberle, CEO of the Boards & More Group, said: “We are united by a love of product details. Together we want to advance the SQlab and Ion brands internationally.”

Previously in 2020, SQlab worked with medical experts to develop its new M-D line of comfort saddles have more space to help relieve pressure and active technology that supports the natural movement of the pelvis. Additionally, ergonomics specialist is now producing a new version of the “6OX Ergowave” saddle in Germany.
