Italian e-Bike brand THOK brings in former pro Ambrogio Grillo

Thok e-Bikes, almost three years after being set up by former pro Stefano Migliorini, has brought in another ex pro rider – Ambrogio Grillo – as Sales Manager.

Grillo, the first Italian pro athlete in the dirt / freestyle sector in the early 2000s, has joined the made-in-Italy high-end e-MTB brand after amassing experience at Scott Italia, as sales manager for the Bergamont and Dolomite Apparel brands. A graduate in business administration, Grillo has also collaborated with action sports brands like K2, Gola and Smith Optics.

The new recruit will take care of the development of the THOK Point network. The bikes are largely sold online, however dealers can work with the brand and become ‘Thok Points’ acting as showrooms, handling test rides and servicing.

Grillo said: “I chose to enter the Thok team first of all because I believe in the project: e-Bikes are a game changer of the cycle industry, as were the MTBs in the late 80s, and the MIG is an incredible, well-balanced e-bike that immediately gives a great driving feeling. The innovative commercial strategy of Thok E-Bikes, with hybrid sales (online and traditional) is a great stimulus for my role.

“Finally, the friendship with Stefano Migliorini (CEO of Thok E-Bikes) has lasted twenty years, since he chose me in the official freestyle team that he managed and gave me the opportunity to grow as an athlete. I took part in many races in Italy and in Europe. In those years, he was the one who taught me that you cannot always close all jumps at the first shot, but if you work hard, at the end you can do it. Translated into real life and career: when you run head-on (and elbows wide) you can achieve your targets.”

Thok E-Bikes is one of the e-Bike brands currently exhibiting at Milan’s EICMA Show.
