Kalkhoff names new Managing Director
German eBike brand Kalkhoff has appointed Melanie Lauer as Managing Director.
Lauer assumed her role in September 2025, succeeding Mirjam Van Coillie, who left the Kalkhoff brand after a 3.5-year assignment from the parent company.
Kalkhoff described Lauer as a “successor with extensive expertise in brand transformation, digital business and innovation management” with expertise in sales, marketing and product management, adding that Lauer’s career has been marked by achievements in brand building and the development of high-performing teams.
Lauer said: “Kalkhoff is an iconic German bicycle brand that stands for quality and technical innovation. As part of one of the largest mobility groups worldwide, we have the best conditions to continue writing our success story.”
Prior to joining Kalkhoff, Lauer served as CEO of Trisport AG (Kettler Sport) for five years. Before this, as Vice President International B2B at Conrad Electronic, she played a key role in transforming the company from a B2C-focused business into a strong partner for B2B customers.
Established in 1919, Kalkhoff has been part of the Dutch Pon.Bike Group since 2012, which has a portfolio boasting more than 20 bicycle brands, including Gazelle, FOCUS, Urban Arrow and Veloretti.
