MET unveils new MET Revo helmet range
MET has unveiled its new MET Revo helmet range, exclusively distributed by Extra UK and the natural lead-on from MET Roam, featuring elevated ventilation and safety standards. The combination of linear and rotational impact standards has created an optimised helmet design for performance across a range of impact energies.
The new helmets have achieved NTA 8776 certification and a 5-star Virginia Tech rating, helping them meet the demands of modern MTB and e-MTB riding. The MET Revo has been developed in The Tube, MET’s in-house wind tunnel, to ensure effectiveness on long rides.
Compared to its predecessor, the MET Revo internal ventilation channels provide a 23.5% increase in cooling efficiency. Rotational impact forces are reduced using Mips Air Node and a Safe-T Heta fit system for a precise and comfortable fit.
The 23.5% increase in ventilation was possible through the use of MET’s proprietary wind tunnel, using the data from The Tube to analyse performance and function.
With NTA 8776 being the only safety standard created for speed e-bikes, achieving NTA certification ensures the new ranges ability to dissipate significantly more impact energy. Additional impact testing coverage has been taken on the shell surrounding the back and temples, those being the two most sensitive brain areas.
To ensure safety, the new range has been tested at 21% more speed and has shown the ability to dissipate up to 43% more impact energy. An added 10% extra impact-tested coverage has been conducted on the back and temples.
Independent of MET’s own research, the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab tested the MET Revo, giving the helmets its highest rating of 5 stars. The assessment was based on both linear and rotational impact energies, extending past current state-of-the-art helmet safety standards.
Visors are adjustable and feature a safety-release system, ensuring safe detachment in the event of an accident. The flexibility of the visor prevents changes to the helmet position during impacts.
Balance and stability on the head are provided through the Safe-T Heta retention system, ensuring riders are free from discomfort. The system is compatible with any eyewear riders may select. There are no pressure points on the skull due to the 360° head belt which has an easy-to-use vertical adjustment, allowing users to have an individual fit.
The helmet is secured using the magnetic Fidlock strap fastening system, with accessibility even when wearing gloves.
Sizes range from S (52-56cm), M (56-58cm), L (58-61cm), with the M size weighing 390g.
Key features include an in-mould polycarbonate shell with EPS liner, extended back head and temple coverage, 360° head belt and 3 vertical adjustments, full polycarbonate wrap, sunglasses ports, and a soft storage bag.
The new MET Revo is in stock with Extra now, priced £169.99 SRP.
