MiRiDER One GB3 offers three speed gearbox and belt

UK electric folding bike label MiRiDER has debuted a new model, dubbed the GB3, based on its classic chassis, but also offering up a rear hub drive motor, paired to a three-speed gearbox system and driven by a belt.

mirider gb3Debuted at Eurobike, the GB3 edition’s sophisticated approached to balancing clean lines and low maintenance, with the ability to have both electric assistance and a trio of gears, came to fruition as the firm’s designers grappled with a way to avoid turning to a front hub motor for the assistance.

Martin Higginson, Marketing Director at the family-run MiRiDER business explained: “In keeping with our philosophy of simplicity and rider experience, we scoured the world for complimentary parts to fulfil our objectives. Rather than take the easy, traditional option of moving the hub motor to the front and hanging a derailleur off the back, we wanted to be smarter than that. We wanted to retain the balance and traction a rear wheel hub offers whilst avoiding a bulky and dirty gear set.

“To enhance the unique gear system, we’ve added a custom belt drive system, which provides a quiet and smooth ride without the oil! The trio of ratios have been devised to offer a perfect selection; 1st for climbing or riding without assistance, 2nd for typical riding and 3rd for cruising or riding above the 15.5mph cut out.”

Exclusively available in Platinum Silver, the MiRiDER One GB3 will be available to order from 1st August 2022 with a price point of £2,495. The bike is finished with components including a Selle Royal saddle, a pair of hydraulic brakes, CNC foldable pedals and an LCD screen with USB charge port included.

The award winning MiRiDER One continues to be available in a range of five stunning colours, plus the Edition models, from £1,595 with a wide range of accessories available.
