Öhlins OEM business adds four new MTB labels

Premium suspension brand Öhlins has announced a growth in its OEM trade with the addition of its products to four new mountain bike labels.

Mondraker, Commencal, Thok and Intense will with MY21 introduce Öhlins specced bikes. The additions give the suspension label a deeper foothold with key labels, as well as featuring on flagship builds from Hope Technology, Stanton, Starling, Canfield, Greyp, Privateer and Antidote.

Mondraker will be the first to feature the new long-travel RXF38 m.1 fork on its Level RR and super-enduro Crafty Carbon XR e-MTBs. The two models will spec both the TTX22M and TTXAir at the rear, respectively. Mondraker’s Foxy Carbon XR 29 and Foxy Carbon RR 29 will also run the RXF36 m.2, paired with the robust and high-performance TTXAir rear shock. The Superfoxy Carbon R and RR will also feature the Öhlins TTXAir shock.

The RXF38 m.1 fork offers a lighter, shorter and more compact design than its dual-crown DH38 cousin, with up to 180mm of travel available and clearance for up to a 29″er clad with a 2.8″ tyre.

Boasting 15 clicks of adjustment for low-speed compression and rebound damping, three clicks for high-speed compression and a climb-mode setting, its re-tuned twin-piston, three-chamber air spring system allows for detailed tuning across all 180mm of travel. The fork weighs in from 2,390 grams, depending on the wheel size.

Torkel Sintorn, General Manager MTB Öhlins Racing AB, said: “We are really honored to work with some of the biggest bike brands in mountain biking. We pride ourselves on producing top quality products and enjoy working with manufacturers to help create some of the greatest bikes on the market. Working with Mondraker, Commencal, Thok and Intense is the start of a long journey for us, with plenty more brands to come in the very near future.”

E-bike maker Thok, which CI.N has learned is soon to announce a new UK distributor, is the first brand to launch an electric bike with the new RXF38 m.1. The Öhlins-specced Thok TK01 LTD is made for technical and demanding riding and comes complete with the TTXAir rear shock.

Californian brand Intense closely follows, also choosing Öhlins for its latest e-MTB model – the Tazer MX. Intense have opted for Öhlins’ dual-crown DH38 m.1 forks at the front, with the TTX22M keeping the bike planted at the rear.

Finally, Commencal has chosen to spec Öhlins for MY2021. The 2021 META AM 29 Öhlins ED will benefit from a TTX22M coil rear shock and RXF36 m.2 fork. The DH38 m.1 fork meanwhile, designed for downhill riding, will feature on the new Supreme DH 29 / 27 Öhlins ED. The TTX22M, a popular choice for OEMs, will provide the bike’s 27.5” rear wheel with ample traction.
