Orbea has launched a service dubbed ‘Rider Connect’, which has been built to pair consumers with available (or soon to be available) stock and a local bike shop.
Users of the new service can view bike models that are currently available at the shop of their choice, as well as incoming bikes due off the production line and their respective delivery dates. Users can filter the results by both delivery date and distance to their home. Through Rider Connect, users can reserve a bike model and manage their purchase at the dealer they selected, or personalise their bike purchase at orbea.com and receive it at their nearest store – all at the click of a button.
For the retailer, Orbea state: “The bike industry is experiencing a difficult time: the massive demand from riders is met with uncertain delivery dates from bike brands. This situation has led Orbea to create Rider Connect, a solution that allows customers to view the current and future availability of Orbea bikes at the store of their choice, helping shops effectively manage their sales and helping riders find their perfect bike.
“Dealers who participate in Rider Connect attract new customers who have a strong desire to purchase a bike in their store. The program also allows the dealer to ship the product before the bike has physically arrived at their store.”
