Orbea strengthens UK and Ireland commercial team
Basque bike brand Orbea has strengthened its commercial team to increase its market share in the UK and Irish markets.
The company has appointed Chris Needs (pictured centre) as Country Manager for the UK and Ireland. In this position, Needs will be responsible for enhancing relationships with its network of dealers and improving the end-customer experience.
The company has also appointed two Account Managers: David Whild (pictured left), who will focus on boosting the brand’s presence in the South West region, and John Mahon (pictured right), who will be responsible for driving growth and providing commercial support across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
These appointments complement the existing account management network and the marketing team operating from the Cardiff hub.
Orbea said its business model is built on several pillars, including high-quality products covering road, mountain, gravel, electric and urban bikes across a wide price spectrum.
It also offers year-round product availability, working with retail partners to ensure they have what they need at all times and modifying existing orders based on day-to-day developments. This approach helps Orbea avoid significant excess stock, maintain product availability throughout the year and provide its partners with a competitive advantage over the discount policies of other brands.
Moreover, Orbea’s exclusive customisation platform, the MYO Programme, allows customers to design bespoke bikes with different specifications and component upgrades.
The company added that its investment in the UK and Irish markets is a sign of its plan to strengthen its position as a preferred brand for both dealers and cyclists in these territories.
