Ortlieb CEO duo becomes a trio with Martin Esslinger promotion

Ortlieb Sportartikel GmbH has broadened its management structure. The CEO-duo of Hartmut Ortlieb and Jürgen Siegwarth will be joined by former Sales Director Martin Esslinger, who was promoted on February 1, 2021. Esslinger has been with the company since 2016 and has gradually taken on more and more responsibility leading up to this promotion.

“Martin has been working for Ortlieb for over five years, he has played a major role in the development of the brand and the Ortlieb company during this period. With the appointment of Martin Esslinger to the chief management, we are honoring his work and at the same time, setting the course for the future,“ said Jürgen Siegwarth.

Founder Hartmut Ortlieb added: “We are facing major challenges, both in terms of digitization and automation, but also in the area of logistics, as the year 2020 clearly showed us. With the company, we will also continue to invest in Germany as the sole production site, and with Martin Esslinger as Chief Executive Officer, we will successfully master these challenges.“

The areas of responsibility of the three CEOs are clearly distributed. Martin Esslinger will take over the areas of sales, logistics, Trademark law and customer service. Jürgen Siegwarth will be responsible for the areas of advertising, product management, digital and future fields. Company founder Hartmut Ortlieb is responsible for the technology and production areas of the Franconian Bike and Outdoor specialist.

For UK bike shops the luggage brand is available via outdoor and cycling specialist distributor Lyon Equipment.
