Pivot Cycles launches Mach 4 SL for cross country

Pivot Cycles has unveiled the new Mach 4 SL, a cross country race bike designed to enable World Cup level athletes capitalise on increasingly technical courses and generate speed.

The Mach 4 SL is the lightest and fastest 100mm travel XC race bike the brand has developed yet.

Starting at 1.845 kg, the bike takes a front row seat in the ultralight full suspension category, with exceptional stiffness to weight ratio and coming in at more than 300 grams lighter than its feathery predecessor, the Mach 429 SL.

Pivot Cycles President and CEO, Chris Cocalis, said: “We wanted to give our athletes every advantage possible in the upcoming Olympic year. With the development on the Mach 4 SL we exceeded all our weight and performance targets.

“This one really takes both the Mach 4’s light weight and agility as well as the Mach 429L’s speedy heritage to an entirely new performance level. The bike just flat out rips.”

Fox Live Valve integration gives the Mach 4 SL next level cross country suspension. The shock layout may be different, but the 100mm travel dw-link® suspension retains the bike’s pedalling efficiency, reactive to impacts under power, and fully active while braking.

The new extra-small size fits riders down to 4’10” with a lower stand-over height than the brand’s Mach 4 Carbon with 27.5″ wheels.

The bike comes with a slacker head angle, longer reach and shorter stays for a whole new feel and confidence on the fast, tricky descents that have become increasingly common on World Cup cross country courses.

The Mach 4 SL is available in three colour options, Team Blue, Cherry and Stealth. It is available in the UK as a frame/shock for £3,550 or a range of complete bikes £5,250 to £11,800 for the Fox Live, XX1 AXS, Carbon wheels version. The bike is available in five sizes from XS – XL via Pivot Dealers.
