POC hires snow industry veteran to N.A Marketing Manager

Outdoor helmet, apparel, eyewear and accessory manufacturer, POC, has drafted in snow industry veteran Brendan Murphy to the role of North American Marketing Manager.

The Utah-based brand, which covers skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking, is looking to bring Murphy on board to direct the brand’s marketing efforts across both its snow and wheels category.

With 15 years experience in the outdoor industry, Murphy has established himself as a product expert and agile marketer through previous roles at Quiksilver and Burton Snowboards in product marketing and development.

Prior to joining POC, Murphy spent five years at Giro Sports Design, where as Senior Brand Manager he was responsible for overall brand direction and go-to-market strategy.

Ben Coates, POC North American Managing Director, said of the appointment: “Brendan’s product and marketing experience will allow him to make an immediate impact on POC’s growth and brand development. There’s a lot to look forward to at POC in the coming years and we’re pleased to add Brendan to the team that will take us there.”

At POC, Murphey will lead all facets of the brand’s omni-channel marketing approach across North America, with a focus on retail marketing, events, go-to-market tools and B2B marketing aspects.

Murphy said: “In a relatively short time, POC has pushed the industry with unique aesthetics, technical design and an unrelenting commitment to its mission to reduce the consequences of accidents for snow sports athletes and cyclists. Last year, POC partnered with Locally, a service that integrates with the brand’s e-Commerce systems, redirecting customers to local dealers, initially applying to the North American market.
