EU Cycle hosts “Doubling Cycling across the continent” event

EU CYCLE have issued an open invitation to attend the project’s Final Conference, which will take place in Brussels, on April 27th, exploring “how governments can make cycling better where you live”.

EU CYCLE, which stands for ‘Cycling for development, growth and quality of life in European regions’, is an Interreg project that aims at improving the performance of policy instruments addressed through interregional learning and regional action planning and has reunited partners from Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Germany.

  • It has been proven time and time again that cycling is one of the most effective tools to combat climate change and poor public health.
  • During the event the participants will have the opportunity to learn about the experience of several European regions as well as find out how EU supports cycling investments and so much more.

Of the event, Philip Amaral, Policy and Development Director for the ECF highlights that the gathering represents a unique opportunity to hear from an impressive line-up of speakers, sharing insights into:

  • How the EU is specifically investing financially in cycling infrastructure
  • How municipalities can wisely spend money on cycling by building great infrastructure to boost cycle commuting, leisure and tourism
  • Cycling improvements in Hungary, Poland, the Dutch-German border and in Italy.
