POC invests in relocation and growing employee base
Protective gear manufacturer POC has announced a relocation to Park City, Utah, which will result in the hiring of new staff, as well as an enhanced distribution capability.
Coming just months after the $65 million October sale to Investcorp, the firm will now leave Salt Lake City, with the new facility bringing essential credit management, finance operations and logistics services in-house. The Swedish brand was formerly found in the Black Diamond portfolio.
“Bringing these services under one roof will allow us to increase overall efficiency to offer the best service possible,” says Willie Ford, POC’s managing director for North America. “We plan to fully immerse ourselves in the Park City community; hosting events, supporting local ski and bike clubs and shining a light on everything Park City has to offer.”
The firm has now recruited a new marketing director in David DeMartini who joins from Backbone Media, a role where he previously managed a POC media program, among others.
In addition to DeMartini, the firm has hired a new controller, credit manager and finance team all solely focused on POC.
The new warehouse is kitted out for the modern age too, allowing the business to ship faster and more affordably, it says. A bolstered customer service and sales team, as well as a website overhaul further add to the company’s efforts to grow business.
The firm’s mountain bike portfolio is now deeper than it’s ever been following a series of gear additions revealed earlier this month.
