Zurich, Switzerland, based engineering and design firm Radiate Engineering and Design AG, are potentially a new name for many cyclists, yet the business, with its fast simulation-driven product development approach, combined with agile prototyping and testing of advanced materials, is definitely not new to cycling.

This week its profile in the industry was further elevated with the unveiling of the all-new Syncros Capital SL full-carbon wheelset, developed exclusively for their client, Scott Sports SA.

Composite experts, Radiate Engineering and Design AG have an extensive advanced materials  background, and are able to apply deep knowledge and expertise to any project. Outside of the cycling space the business counts BMW, Siemens, Schindler, and Dufour Aerospace amongst clients it has worked with.

The new Syncro Capital SL wheelset is said to represent a breakthrough in aerodynamic design and composite technology,  one which embodies a comprehensive “System For Speed” approach, where every component has been engineered to maximize aerodynamic performance and riding experience.

Asked about the engineering and design approach, lead engineer Jan Schenker says: “For a rider, acceleration and sprinting capabilities are key competitive advantages, and the Capital SL wheelset capitalizes on this with its unique structure. We strategically redistributed weight from the outer rim to the hub, significantly reducing rotational inertia by 20% compared to traditional carbon wheels.
