Raleigh introduce the Modum: A compact ‘cycling as transport’ eBike

Raleigh has introduced its latest ‘cycling as transport’ focused eBike with the launch of the Modum – a powerful, compact, urban eBike with a wide range of accessories, enabling customers to create a bike perfect for all their daily transport needs.

Designed with urban life in mind – where storage can be a major barrier to bike ownership – the Modum offers compact cargo bike levels of utility, without the requirement for substantial storage space. To achieve this, the Modum is equipped with a quick release speed lifter, enabling the handlebars to twist 180 degrees, enabling the bike to be easily tucked away in narrow spaces, taken on public transport or stored flat against a wall.

With 20 inch wheels providing a nimble ride characteristics, and a compact frame size, the Modum has been designed and engineered to meet the wide variety of urban living and urban transport needs. The rear rack is compatible with the Mounting Is Key – MIK- revolutionary click system that allows you to fit a variety of luggage options quickly and securely.

With a host of Basil MIK compatible accessories available, including a dog bicycle basket, the Modum offers a modular approach to customisation, giving customers the ability to create a Modum specifically tailored to meet commuting, shopping, and weekend exploring, needs, with children and pets along for the ride.

Using a Bosch BES3 mid-motor, paired with a 500wh integrated battery, provides a substantial 100 mile range. For many urban users this will mean charging happens just once a week; another key element in creating an easy to live with, easy to use, confidence inspiring, utility workhorse.

Designed to be an integral part of daily life, the Modum is all about make life simple. This sees the bike come with an integrated dropper seat post, front and rear lights, and mudguards, making it the daily transport choice, irrespective of conditions.

Smooth reliable shifting and braking are provided by Shimano disc brakes and a Shimano Nexus 5 gear hub.
