Rapha rumoured to be in sale talks with Louis Vuitton parent

Following the news that luxury fashion group LVMH is in talks with Pinerello about a potential takeover, The Mail On Sunday further puts Rapha on the group’s radar.

Simon Mottram’s premium cycle clothing brand – a supplier of Team Sky’s racewear – is in fair shape, with the latest accounts showing a pre-tax profit of £1.1 million on a £48.8 million turnover. Aside from producing clothing, in recent years the firm has also taken to opening destination stores (or Clubhouses) for shopper’s to peruse the collection in the flesh.

A parent to over 70 luxury brands, LVMH’s turnover is in the region of £30.4 billion, giving owner Bernard Arnault plenty to finance the opportunities he is reportedly eyeing in the sports and leisure business.
