Rob Hardie takes on northern area sales for Velobrands

Velobrands has appointed Rob Hardie to manage the cycling distributor’s Northern Area Sales.

Rob previously worked as a clothing, accessories and outdoor category manager for a large cycle retailer. Before making the move into the bike trade Rob had many years experience in Duty and Store Management in the FMCG sector.

“I’ve always ridden bikes as a way of exploring, doing various short tours before doing the JOGLE in 2011,” said Hardie. “I’ve done a few shorter Audax rides, with the Bryan Chapman as the next target. I’d say I’m a bike escapist, but I enjoy watching racing with a beer.

“Favourite drink has to be Lagavulin, which I’m saving to toast the completion of Irene (my mid-restoration T25 camper). I remember being mocked at school for being the only kid with a road bike. Funny how things change! I’ve still got that bike actually… ”
