RockShox’s new SID takes aim at XC and downcountry
The arrival of the new RockShox SID, across a 4 model, 2 tier, line up, spanning 100mm, 110mm and 120mm options, marks a product shift in line with the current trend for 120mm WC XC bikes, as a direct response to the increasingly challenging nature of UCI MTB WC XC courses.
Whilst a focus on the top step of the XC podium has historically defined what RockShox SID SL has been about, a steadily growing interest in downcountry – riding for those with a love of type 2 fun blended with a sizable serving of ‘just for sh*t’s and giggles’ trail exploring – sees SID entering new territory with the introduction of a 120mm option which rides like a longer travel fork, yet comes at a significantly reduced weight.
Where the launch of the new fork – available in Ultimate, Select+, Select, and SID configurations, across both SID (100mm, 110mm, 120mm) and SID SL (100mm / 110mm) platforms, along with the introduction of the SIDLUXE shock in 3P, and Select+ configurations – has garnered a host of spec and tech details focused coverage, CI.N figured watching someone who really knows their apples put the product through its paces was better than repeating what can already be read, in great detail, via features in customer focused titles.
Step forward Guy Kestevan. Over to you chief…..
For those wondering if Flight Attendant is still going to become a thing for short travel focused product, we’ll just leave this here….
