Sea Otter Classic postpones 2020 event, new dates to be announced

April’s Sea Otter Classic has been postponed ‘after a thorough review of the coronavirus threat’, organisers have confirmed.

A statement on the event website confirms the show will be rescheduled, with organisers coordinating with local authorities to determine the best dates to host the show this year.

Those dates are anticipated to be announced by the middle of next week.

The statement continued:

“Information regarding registration refunds and rollovers will be posted on our website once the new dates have been finalised. Thank you again for your understanding and support during these challenging times.”

VeloNews reported California’s Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency as of Wednesday, following the state’s first coronavirus-linked death.

Sea Otter Classic was due to take place next month at the Leguna Seca Raceway in Monteray, California, and joins the growing number of events taking the decision to cancel and rearrange in light of the Covid-19 outbreak.
