SQlab Profiler app simplifies matching customer to bike goods

SQlab has launched, in Beta form, a new app dubbed ‘Profiler’ that has vastly simplified the process of assisting shop staff in assigning the perfectly matched products to a customer, based on their measurements and ride style.

Demonstrated at Eurobike and available to the UK retailer very soon as a free to download app, the AI-driven Profiler utilises a series of anonymised photos and heat maps of the customer to intelligently determine the dimensions of everything from hands, bums and the body as a whole.

This enables the retailer to instantly see feedback on the best-suited products and sizes of said lines, each given as a percentage match. With the report the retailer can then make recommendations to the customer products ranging grips, saddles, gloves, shoes, protective gear and more. The recommendations can be emailed to the customer for future reference in view of them returning in future for further upgrades.

CI.N went through the process with SQlab Social Media Manager, Nina Gerhard at the German trade show where alongside the app’s debut some of the first made in Germany saddles were revealed.

Gerhard said of the app: “The idea is to help the dealer and their staff, no matter their skills in fitting. This has been a big investment from SQlab, but it’s free to download as we see it as a key sales tool to enhance the brand experience.

“Importantly, the customer cannot just do this by themselves, it requires input from the store, so we are building shop engagement into a sales process that recommends multiple fitted lines. These take into consideration gender, bike style, frequency and time in the saddle, measurements, pressure mapping and more. The app even recommends complete bike options for brands that give us their data sheets. We are working to add more bike brand’s products as we go.”
