Tern accelerates UK growth with senior hire and marketing push

Tern has strengthened its operations, PR and marketing efforts in the UK market through two appointments.

The Taiwan-based company appointed Maris Adamovics (pictured left) as Operations Director, responsible for enhancing the responsiveness and efficiency of Tern’s supply chain. Adamovics boasts more than 25 years of experience in the cycling industry and a broad skillset in product development, sourcing and quality management.

Prior to joining Tern, Adamovics worked for Specialized Bicycle Components for more than four years. He also worked for Ritchey Design as Director of Product Development. According to Tern, these roles equipped him with “unique insight into both the fast-moving, flexible environment of a growing company and the structured, process-driven operations of a major brand”.

“Maris is perfectly positioned to accelerate Tern’s evolution towards a disciplined, scalable operation. He will improve how we plan, raise standards for execution, and use data across our processes,” said Matthew Davis, COO of Tern.

Tern also appointed UK-based public relations agency Red Cloud Marketing to handle its PR and marketing duties in the UK. Led by owner Mark Almond (pictured right), the Red Clod Marketing team will work with Tern’s marketing team and help expand the brand’s footprint in the rapidly growing eBike and urban mobility market.

With the addition of Red Cloud Marketing, Tern now has a strong PR network spanning key markets, including InMotion Marcom in the EU and Double Digit Communications in North America.

Not long before, the company’s first European distribution office, Tern ZE GmbH, began operations on 1 July. Sales in Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg are managed by i:SY GmbH & Co. KG.
