Tifosi to donate face shields to health workers

Tifosi has stepped up to supply health care workers with professional grade face shields in the US.

Throughout May, for every pair of sunglasses sold on its website, Tifosi will donate a face shield to health care facilities.

The face shields are made with a thick anti-fog plastic that covers the whole face, forehead foam to protect and ease pressure after long hours of use, and an elastic band to secure the shield.

There’s a good number of businesses in the bicycle industry moving to support health workers during the pandemic, including the supply and production of PPE. Tern has partnered with Hoop Hero to bring a newly developed ‘Aerosol box’ to health workers in the US, Alé Cycling is now involved in medical coat production in Italy and Santini has turned its production facilities into a 10,000 masks-a-day factory.

Aside from PPE supplies, the UK is seeing considerable support for health workers and key workers. There’s even a map to link up key workers with special bikes and services.
