Vittoria launches VittoriaLabs for research and testing into bicycle tyre systems
Bicycle tyre and accessory company Vittoria has launched its new VittoriaLabs, a state-of-the-art research and development centre designed to enhance the future of cycling performance. One lab in Thailand is already in operation, with another two in Italy opening.
Cutting-edge testing will be conducted at the new site, designed to generate technological innovations in cycling and maintain Vittoria’s marketing position in performance, safety, and sustainability.
Thailand’s facility is 330m2 and is equipped with 15 state-of-the-art machines for research and development across a range or tyres and accessories. The first Italian centre spans 430m2 and contains 8 high-performance machines. This centre contains Vittoria’s main works.
The third centre is also in Italy, and has a five-hectare outdoor testing facility, containing five kilometers of tracks. An indoor lab allows for further tests under various conditions. This combination of indoor and outdoor testing allows real-world applications needs to be met.
The two regions have been selected by Vittoria for their academic excellence and industrial expertise. This allows collaboration with top-tier universities and local industries, helping constant innovation. The locations have also been picked for their connection to Vittoria’s headquarters and factories for smooth communication and production.
Stijn Vriends, chairman and CEO of Vittoria said: “Vittoria Labs will be the engine driving our ambitions for market leadership in innovation in a future we are already shaping.”
Vanessa ten Hoff, chief innovation & marketing officer of Vittoria said: “By combining state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor testing facilities, we can push the limits of what’s possible in cycling tyres and accessories, while keeping sustainability at the core of our innovations.”
