Wahoo launches new Kickr Rollr virtual riding functionality

Wahoo has announced what for many will be the most significant update for the Kickr Rollr, enabling the trainer to connect – without the requirement for a power meter – to virtual platforms Wahoo RGT and Zwift.

Wahoo Kickr Rollr side profile, with bike shadowed outThe Kickr Rollr, originally released early in 2022, is transformed by this new software update – which will work on any Kickr Rollr – enabling virtual platforms to take a speed reading from the Rollr and translate that into movement in a virtual environment.

As a result, the Kickr Rollr now provides controlled resistance in level, ERG, and simulated modes – without the use of an external power meter – giving users access to the full virtual indoor cycling experience.

The unique Kickr Rollr design makes transitioning from outdoor to indoor cycling incredibly fast and easy – no need to remove your rear wheel – making it more convenient to train indoors and out. This is particularly convenient for multi-bike households, and for first time indoor cyclists.

The Kickr Rollr comes with a free trial to Wahoo X, giving you immediate access to two completely unique indoor cycling apps, Wahoo Systm and RGT through one subscription.

Wahoo Systm offers a sport science based personalised training plan to help you achieve your goals. It also offers cross-training workouts and yoga to benefit your all-round fitness. Wahoo RGT is a realistic virtual world where you can ride some of the most famous routes in global cycling.
