Whyte Bikes acquires Quench Cycles
Whyte Bikes have announced the acquisition of Quench Cycles, with the business operating across 2 closely located sites on the Kent / Sussex board.
Commenting on the news, the brand said, “Over the years Quench has been a big part of, and contributed so much, to bring the joy of riding bikes to our local community so we’re excited to be able to step in and support them, all their employees and what they’ve built to keep part of the local scene alive.”
The Bedgebury Forest site, only 30 minutes drive from Whyte Bikes UK head office, is set within 2500 acers of forest, and features a cycle shop, bike servicing, repair centre. The site also includes a 9KM blue loop and a 14km red loop, making the venue ideal for bike hire and demo days. The Quench Cycles website notes, “As a demo centre for Whyte, it means that you can try before you buy, in a forest and mountain biking trail environment to make sure that you get the mountain bike that’s right for you.”
The second location, Flimwell Park, East Sussex – just between Hawkhurst and the Flimwell junction – is the site of Quench Cycles Bike Servicing, Repair and Tech Centre, which the business states is, “one of the top ranked ACT recognised workshops in the UK.” This is currently scheduled to reopen following the Bedgebury Forest site.
On Facebook the announcement reads, “David and Emma Cole have built the Quench business with a superb reputation for quality and service. We believe passionately in the great work the team at Bedgebury have done to bring the joy of bike riding to the local community, and we are excited to be picking up the baton for the next stage of the company’s journey.”
