The event package will cost £25 and cover participants for themselves and their bike. The package covers participants for crashes and accidental damage during, to and from the event, up to £15,000 with cover for a hire bike if the bike is damaged on the way to the event. Customers will also be covered for event fee cancellation and public liability up to £2 million.
Ryan Georgiades, Managing Director of Yellow Jersey, said: “It’s fantastic to be on board with such an iconic event as Prudential RideLondon to offer our unique event insurance package. Our event weekend insurance policy will give peace of mind to the riders that, should something happen, we’ll help them and their bicycle get back up and riding again.”
Riders will also have the option to upgrade the policy for £5 to include £1,000 of travel expenses.
Yellow Jersey is also offering a 15% discount on its annual Performance and Ultimate Insurance policy to anyone who has entered one of the 2019 Prudential RideLondon sportives.
Prudential RideLondon Event Director, Hugh Brasher, said: “We are delighted to announce this partnership with Yellow Jersey which will give participants in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, 46 and 19 the opportunity to take part in the sportives confident in the knowledge that if anything unexpected happens they have this exclusive insurance package to support them.”
Yellow Jersey recently launched a new website, Cycling Holidays; a database and peer-led review platform for cycling and triathlon holiday companies, which aims to add value to the company’s increasing number of affiliate partners through offering training camps and cycling holidays, while also providing a tailored, useful resource to athletes looking for their next cycling or triathlon holiday.
