Saracen, Shimano & Madison partner with Aston Hill Bike Park ahead of March 2026 opening
Saracen, Shimano and Madison are partnering with Aston Hill Bike Park, joining forces to restore what was reputedly the South’s premier downhill bike park.
Saracen is partnering with the newly established Bike Park Chilterns CiC to help restore Aston Hill to its former glory – and take it even further. Shimano is also backing the project with a major contribution from its Trail Born fund, a 10-year commitment to supporting trails and trail builders around the world.
As part of this revival, Saracen will become the exclusive bike partner to the park when it plans to reopen in March 2026 with a fleet of hire bikes for riders to demo. Saracen support will also bring extensive infrastructure upgrades including a dedicated container, welcome cabin and branded elements throughout the site. Additional backing will come from leading brands Shimano, Madison Clothing, and Lazer, delivered through the Madison and Sportline business.
The welcome news comes while there’s a deal of anxiety about the nation’s trails (particularly in Wales).

Madison is based only a short distance from the hill, and their support over the years has played a key role in the growth of the local riding community. We’re excited to be working together again and to showcase what this part of the Chilterns can offer riders.”

As we enter the build phase, their support will help us push forward with confidence and set a new standard for what Aston Hill can become.”
Aston Hill is steeped in mountain biking heritage, serving as a go-to destination for riders for over 25 years. The venue hosted countless races and events before closing in 2020 due to extensive ash dieback. Today, Bike Park Chilterns is leading the redevelopment and long-term stewardship of Aston Hill, ensuring its legacy continues for future generations.

The park is planned to reopen in March 2026 with two trails, that will redefine the Aston Hill experience. Over the next five to ten years, the goal is to build at least seven new trails and work at the site has already begun. This marks an exciting step in restoring Aston Hill as a must-visit destination for mountain biking enthusiasts.
