Amflow launches PL Carbon and PL Carbon Pro eMTBs in US

Amflow has introduced two new electric mountain bikes — the Amflow PL Carbon and PL Carbon Pro — to the US market, following their debut at Eurobike 2024.

Built around an ultra-light carbon fibre frame weighing just 2.27kg, both models feature the Avinox Drive System. This system delivers up to 105Nm of torque and includes a specialised Auto mode, which automatically adjusts power output in real-time based on terrain and rider position. For tougher trails, riders can activate Boost mode, which pushes torque up to 120Nm.

Additional riding aids include the Walk mode which offers walk assistance for easier navigation on steep inclines; the Auto Hold mode that prevents the bike from rolling back on slopes; and the Hill Start Assist mode providing extra torque to help riders get moving on hills.

The system is powered by a lightweight 2.87kg battery, supported by a comprehensive battery management system. Features include real-time monitoring, self-discharge protection, active voltage reduction and abnormality alerts. The battery retains at least 80% capacity after 500 charge-discharge cycles.

Additionally, the Avinox system features a 2″ full-colour OLED touchscreen display, giving riders easy access to real-time data, estimated range and settings, with all adjustable with a simple swipe.

Control is further enhanced by Bluetooth-enabled wireless controllers, allowing riders to switch modes on the go. When connected to the Avinox App, even more functions are unlocked, including customisable riding parameters to fine-tune power, torque and cadence based on individual preferences.

The Anti-theft Mode is password-protected and triggers an alarm while sending a notification if any unauthorised movement is detected. Meanwhile, the Remote Locating function allows riders to track the bike’s real-time location with ease.

Both the control display and the app allow riders to monitor comprehensive metrics including speed, range, cadence, power output, torque, gradient, altitude, calories burned, ride duration, heart rate, and more. All data can be seamlessly synced with third-party apps like Strava, making it easy to share performance stats with friends and the broader eMTB community.

The bikes are already available in Germany, Australia, and the UK, with launches in Spain, France, Italy, and Belgium expected in early 2025.
