Battery maker BMZ Group launches ‘direct to customer’ e-Bike store

German lithium-ion battery manufacturer BMZ Group has announced the launch of a direct to customer online store for e-Bikes and e-Bike accessories.

“Buy your e-bike with an innovative electric drive system where the systems are developed, planned, designed and produced. Everything Made in Germany with decades’ of experience. We let this power and performance flow into all e-bike products in which the BMZ Group is involved, “ reads the new site’s introduction.

Via the new consumer-facing website, customers in the German marketplace are able to book a test ride, select Germany wide shipping, also – via “service at home” – access a delivery service which includes bike set up and familiarisation, and disposal of all packing materials. This is initially being offered in a 50Km radius from the BMZ German Head Office location. In-store pick up is also available, location based stock depending.

The online store will carry e-Bikes in which the latest components from BMZ have been installed, with the website launch announcement stating, “electric bikes from NOX Cycles will be offered here. NORCO e-Bikes will be added at the start of the 2022 season. In addition, an expansion of the product range to include cargo e-Bikes is already being planned.”

The Nox Cycles brand produces e-Bikes at a new production facility in Austria.

BMZ parts also feature in bikes from alongside bikes from Rotwild, Bulls, Kettler and Hercules.

The BMZ Group is headquartered in Germany with production facilities in China, Poland and the USA, as well as offices in Japan and France. In addition, there are research and development facilities worldwide. In June of 2021 it was reported that the Group was preparing for a Frankfurt stock market listing. Sources outlined that the company would target a €2 billion valuation.

BMZ also announced an extension of the warranty to bikes carrying its goods up to 24 months when purchased from BMZ or BMZ customers.

CEO and founder Sven Bauer commented: “This warranty extension is an important next step, because outstanding dealer support means a lot to us. We support 3,000 dealers, in Europe. We do this very intensively especially through our service tool and software updates. Service comes first! The existing customer is served first.”
