BMZ eBike battery production rise driven by UK market wins

BMZ, the eBike components and battery supplier, has announced an investment in upping its 48 volt battery production, something apparently driven by a significant contract win with a UK label.

Having signed a long-term supply agreement BMZ has progressed with a new automated lithium-ion battery production line where the manufacturing capacity will reach 1,000 units per month.

“It´s an important milestone in the BMZ business development in the UK. We are excited about opening new markets for BMZ, and we are working on other opportunities for how BMZ can support UK customers”, says Lukas Gazda, the company director of BMZ UK.

A UK subsidiary of the business set up under the BMZ Innovation Group Ltd (BMZ UK) came to fruition in December of 2020. Since then, BMZ UK has closed binding agreements with new customers from the e-mobility, energy storage, medical and other portable batteries sector.

Globally more than 2,300 work for BMZ, with production facilities found in China, Poland and the USA, as well as subsidiaries in Japan, the UK and France. The headquarters is in Germany and this is where the production is now being enlarged.
