Bosch announes new riding mode & upgrade for the Performance Line CX

Bosch has announced updates of the Performance Line CX systems, enabling riders to enhance the riding experience through the eBike Flow app.

Starting in mid-July, athletic eBikers with the new Performance Line CX (BDU384Y) will be able to increase the performance of their driving unit. The maximum power can be adjusted from the standard value of 600W to 750W, while the maximum torque can be increased from 85Nm to 100Nm and the maximum support up to 400%. The noticeable increase in performance is designed for steep and technical uphill trails.

Although higher performance values will result in increased wear and tear and reduced riding range, the flexibility in adjusting the performance allows users to better protect and customise their bikes.

The update also includes the new eMTB+ mode, offering eMountain bikers support right to the limit and a finely adjustable, longer boost.

BDU384Y also features a dynamic control. When bikers are on demanding trails with changing surfaces and tyre grip, the sensor technology can recognise the conditions and ensures a balanced and smooth motor thrust, offering full control of the power delivery.

Meanwhile, owners of BDU374Y can also get the eMTB+ mode on their eBike via a software update and enjoy enhanced performance on the trail. BDU374Y is also increasing in strength. With the eBike Flow app, the maximum support factor can be increased to up to 400% by using custom riding modes.

Lastly, the Performance Line CX Race Limited Edition (BDU376Y) will also get the new eMTB+ riding mode.

The updates will be available for free.

Earlier this year, Bosch said in its financial results for 2024 that its Mobility business sector, including its eBike Systems section, and AI would be the core areas of future growth. Last year, its Mobility business sector generated sales revenue of €55.9 billion, roughly reaching the previous year’s level.
