Chicken CycleKit & Extra UK: “Business operating as normal”

Chicken CycleKit and Extra UK have joined other UK cycle distributors in confirming they are open for business and continuing to supply bike shops (which, as you will be aware, are permitted to stay open during the coronavirus lockdown).

Extra UK said: “Following the Prime Minister’s statement this week allowing bike shops to continue to stay open, we wanted to let all of our customers know that we too are open for business, taking orders, shipping deliveries and answering enquiries in order to help support bicycle retailers through this time.

“All Extra UK staff who can, are already working remotely following social distancing procedure. During this time, the warranty department and technical support lines will remain open, and staff remaining on premises have been briefed to follow health and safety procedures in order to stay safe. Customer service phone lines will be open from 9.00 up to 16.00 Monday to Friday and our B2B website will remain fully operational.

“We want to reassure everyone that we will be here to supply and support your business until we are told otherwise by Government guidance, and should this change at all, we will communicate this out as soon as possible.

“We want to thank you for your understanding during this time, and would like to offer our sincerest thoughts to all individuals and businesses affected by the Coronavirus.”

Chicken CycleKit said: “We’d like advise our customers that we are still open and the business is operating as normal with reduced staff working from HQ. All staff across the business are working to Government guidelines ensuring their & our customers safety.

“We’d like to reassure our customers that we have taken steps to ensure continuity of supply across our Brands, and to support them however we can through this challenging time. Stock levels are excellent and 24 hour delivery service available at a reduced cost. Staffing levels at HQ are appropriate to the present situation, with all other colleagues available remotely and everyone operating as per Government guidelines to ensure their & customer safety.

“If there are any measures we can take to additionally help your business, feel free to call us on 01525 381347, email or contact your Chicken CyleKit account manager. We look forward to supporting you as best we can in the coming months but most importantly, keep safe and well.”

As the industry adjusts to these new working conditions, some distributors are broadening their services to help retailers.
