Cycling Electric launches Demo day
Diamond Publishing will debut the inaugural Cycling Electric Demo Day at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London, on Sunday 28 April.
The closed-circuit event will give those considering buying an electric bike the chance to ride on tarmacked surfaces, away from traffic, enabling test riders to properly experience each bike’s characteristics, as well as learn about each bike’s functionality from each brand’s representatives.
On the day punters will be able to test-ride electric bikes from a plethora of premium and affordable manufacturers servicing segments ranging electric bikes for commuters, products for enjoying leisure time with the family, and even try out the latest cargo bikes capable of replacing the second car.
Among those brands confirmed to have fleets ready to ride are Brit eBike designers Estarli, whose bikes have consistently performed well in reviews on CyclingElectric.com. There will too be affordable eBike options from EBCO, Ridgeback, and Tenways, premium and highly customisable bikes from Velo de Ville, plus experts from Cycle to Work scheme facilitator The Green Commute Initiative, who will explain to you how to save money on purchases. Ribble has also signed up to the demo day.
For those not yet ready to commit to buying their own eBike there will also be some show presence from electric bike subscription services like Blike which will also be exhibiting with a fleet of its various bikes.
Cycling Electric Editor Mark Sutton said of the inaugural event: ‘There’s little doubting that the test ride plays an incredibly important role in the buying process when it comes to choosing the right electric bike for your needs and what better place to experience your next steed than Lee Valley’s closed circuit Velopark? I’ve seen time and time again the difference a demo can make in helping people understand first of all how eBikes ride and secondly how they hold enormous potential to change the way we move day to day. I’m looking forward to helping our visitors find their next bike on the 28th of April.”
Sales Director for Cycling Electric Adrian Hogan added: “Having organised over twenty Cyclist Track Day events, we’ve seen how impactful demos can be in driving bike sales. Our Cycling Electric demo days now provide brands with this same opportunity to engage with buyers on a dedicated, traffic-free cycling circuit in London. The interest in this event has been huge so please get in touch if you’d like to discuss how your brand can get involved.”
Test tracks will open at 10am on the day and remain available to ride through to 4pm. Tickets will be available at £15 each, though an early-bird offer where a 33% discount will be applied will be open until 1 April. Pre-registration is open already at www.cyclingelectricdemodays.com, apply the DEMOEB code at checkout to access the one-time offer.
Aside from demo events, CyclingElectric is a three times-per-year print magazine available on newsstands nationwide, as well as a daily publisher of content revealing the latest news and reviews of key products in the electric bike sphere. Head to CyclingElectric.com for more information.
