Cycling UK renews partnership with Cycle SOS
Cycling UK has renewed its partnership with Fletchers Solicitors’ specialist cycling legal brand, Cycle SOS, reinforcing a shared commitment to safer and more accessible cycling across the UK.
Over the next three years, Cycle SOS will continue its sponsorship of Cycling UK’s flagship campaign—My ride. Our right. The campaign, launched in March 2025, is dedicated to tackling the gender cycling gap by addressing the root causes behind women’s safety concerns on UK roads. It aims to break down the barriers women face when cycling and promote a more inclusive, equal cycling culture.
Central to the campaign are calls for greater investment in active travel and infrastructure that prioritises women’s safety. This includes advocating for direct, traffic-free cycling routes, inclusive planning that listens to and reflects women’s needs, and increasing awareness of the updated Highway Code to foster more respectful road use.
As part of the renewed partnership, Cycle SOS will also continue its support of Fill That Hole, Cycling UK’s long-standing app that enables cyclists to report potholes and road defects directly to local authorities. Since its launch in 2007, the app has helped report around 200,000 hazards, contributing to improved road conditions nationwide.
“It’s fantastic to continue that work while also backing important initiatives like My ride. Our right. and supporting safer infrastructure through Fill That Hole,” said Nadia Kerr, partner and specialist cycling lawyer at Fletchers Solicitors. “These projects reflect our shared commitment to safer, more accessible cycling for everyone.”
The extended partnership also ensures Cycling UK members will continue to benefit from free access to the Legal Incident Line, which offers expert legal support in the event of a cycling-related incident.
“Support like this is essential to our work as we make the case for shorter journeys by bike to improve public health, strengthen our communities and reduce our environmental impact,” said Felix Hilton, Head of Partnerships at Cycling UK. “Not only will this partnership help us build a future where cycling is safer, but one where it’s seen as an accessible, everyday mode of transport.”
Cycling generates significant social and economic value in the UK, according to Cycling UK. In a recent report, Cycling UK stated that cycling had generated £56.3 million in total benefits, including £47.9 million in health savings from reduced risk of early death and £11.6 million saved by employers through reduced absenteeism.
