Cyclingworld Europe 2026 draws 50,000 visitors as test rides surge 67%

Cyclingworld Europe concluded last weekend, attracting around 50,000 visitors and 20,000 test riders.

At Areal Böhler, nearly 35,000 visitors attended the show, significantly more than the 27,000 recorded the previous year. Meanwhile, the new Urban Hub welcomed more than 15,000 visitors, and over 500 cyclists joined the RadRave with DJ Dom Whiting, riding from the Urban Hub through the city centre to Areal Böhler.

In total, around 50,000 people attended Cyclingworld, including approximately 4,000 trade visitors and nearly 400 accredited media representatives from Germany and abroad. More than 6,000 test riders completed around 20,000 registered test rides, marking an increase of nearly 67% compared with 2025.

“Cyclingworld Europe 2026 was a milestone in many respects: never before have we welcomed so many visitors, while at the same time the atmosphere was as relaxed and inspiring as rarely before,” said Show Director Stefan Maly.

In terms of international participation, around a quarter of the 500 exhibiting brands came from abroad without a German subsidiary, highlighting the event’s growing global relevance.

Alongside major manufacturers, smaller brands also used the platform, a mix that defines the character of the event. “The fair strikes an excellent balance, allowing smaller manufacturers to present themselves on equal footing with major players,” said Clemens Kircher of Iumentum Cargo Cycles.

The awards ceremony reflected broader industry trends, with fewer radical breakthroughs and more intelligent incremental innovations. “The overall quality of submitted products was impressively high,” said jury chairman Michael Lanz. Bicycles are increasingly evolving into individual high-tech products. As Paul Kefer of Munix Finest Bicycles put it: “The cheap run-about bicycle is a thing of the past. Today, a bicycle combines design, lifestyle, function and high technology.”

This development was evident across Düsseldorf, with specialised gravel bikes, urban cargo solutions, digital features and accessories catering to a wide range of lifestyle needs. The bicycle is becoming less of a purely functional mode of transport and increasingly an expression of lifestyle.

Looking ahead, the next Cyclingworld Europe will take place in Düsseldorf from 12 to 14 March 2027.
