Ergon teases SR Triathlon saddle with Jan Frodeno at IM Worlds

Ergon is informally introducing a new saddle, with a pre launch tease of it SR Triathlon Men saddle, to be unveiled in limited numbers at the Ironman World Championships.

Why the ‘tease’? The press release states, “the SR Triathlon Men will only be available for now on a *select* bike, which is soon to launching, only becoming more widely available in Spring ’24.” (No prizes for guessing which bike brand the saddle will feature on, or which soon to be launched bike.)

Designed over 2 years, in collaboration with multi-time World Champion Jan Frodeno, the SR
Triathlon is highly optimized to allow riders to comfortably generate greater watts on the bike, while putting less stress on muscle groups needed for running, thereby allowing athletes to arrive at transition ready to run with greater power.

Utilizing a narrower nose, to give the rider more freedom of movement, the SR Triathlon considers all of the comfort issues typically associated with long-distance triathlon.

A carefully-formed relief channel in the centre of the sit area alleviates pressure and improves comfort so that riders can stay in the aero position and arrive to transition two without over-taxing muscle groups needed in the run

The new saddle originated from Ergon Projekt TRI, which saw the brand alongside world-class triathletes Jan Frodeno and Imogen Simmonds, with the focus on reliving muscle stress in the back during high performance situations, whilst also being fully optimized to enable the best pedalling ergonomics, with Ergon bringing 20 years of experience and ergonomic expertise to bear in tackling and solve these problems.
