Eurobike Media Days will return in tandem with main Friedrichshafen event

The organisers of Eurobike and the press-only preview Media Days have confirmed that the latter event will return in 2018.

Those who have caught our interview with Stefan Reisinger in CI.N’s Q3 Trade Journal would have read that the organisers were initially unsure if the press camp would return given the main show’s new early summer dates. However, the decision was made during the last week’s camp that the event remains valuable and will now feature just prior to the trade fair’s July 8th kick off next year.

Though a venue has yet to be set, Eurobike’s organisers told us: “It is highly likely, to make sense of the logistics, that the next Media Days will be located closer to the main fair.” It is now expected that a full announcement will be made during this year’s event in Friedrichshafen, which runs August 30th to September 2nd.

This year’s event drew 217 global bike media to Kronplatz with time spent exclusively with 24 bike labels on site.

“Our concept of offering the bicycle industry an additional platform before the actual exhibition date to be able to introduce innovations and trends to a select group of media representatives is gaining in importance,” says Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann.

Stefan Vollbach, managing director of Simplon Fahrrad GmbH said of last week’s event: “Compared to last year, the location is even better – very central, easy to access, perfect testing conditions, and great hospitality in South Tyrol. The media participation is even better than last year. For us, Eurobike Media Days were very positive, even somewhat better than last year.”
