Halfords’ commercial director departs

Emma Fox, Halfords’ commercial director, has left the business by mutual consent.

Fox, who departs following a strategic review, held responsibility for commercial trading, marketing, PR, digital, merchandising, space planning, sourcing and quality control.

CyclingIndustry.News understands that the role of the Commercial Director will be spread across other directors within the business.

“We have been reviewing the business to ensure that it’s fit for purpose and supports our Moving Up A Gear strategic priorities. As a result, we have made the decision to flatten our senior structure, with Emma Fox leaving the business by mutual agreement to pursue opportunities elsewhere. Following 3½ very successful years at Halfords, we wish Emma every success in the future,” Halfords said in a statement.

Having formerly spent 14 years within the Walmart group, including a two year spell as the Canadian chief marketing officer, Fox brought to the role deep experience in a everything from logistics to trading. Fox is also a regular cyclist on the lanes around Warwickshire.
