IRC signs distribution agreement with Velo Distribution

Suffolk based distributor Velo Distribution has added IRC Tire Co. label to its growing list of products.

Coming in time for the distributor’s appearance at The Bike Place show, the firm now has stock of the Japanese-made tyres ready to ship.

Malcolm Borg from Velo Distribution said: “As I build a lot of tubeless wheel sets I have fitted and tested tubeless systems from many different manufacturers. I’ve found the IRC range to consistently offer the most secure fit, provide excellent grip and most importantly increased lifespan without any hassle. In short race tyres that are usable all year round.”

While IRC Tire may not be a familiar name to UK cyclists they have been making bicycle tyres and tubes for more than 90 years and sponsor the Nippo Vini Fantini professional road racing team, home to former Giro d’Italia winner Damiano Cunego. This history and top level R & D ensures the company’s products are the best they can be before releasing to the public.

The distributor will be stocking key models from the tubeless road and cyclo-cross range, including the Aspite, Formula, Roadlite and Serac. The road variants – Aspite, Formula and Roadlite – are available in several widths from 23 – 28mm with a range features unique to each model. The Serac cyclo-cross range is also available in several different tread patterns and widths making them suitable for gravel road use as well as racing.

The major development from IRC is their use of Rice Bran Ceramic (RBC) Compound which is formulated via putting rice husks through a crushing and heating process and mixed to the rubber to offer better grip in the wet, lower rolling resistance and improved handling.

IRC Tire joins the growing portfolio of brands at Velo Distribution, including Rock ‘N’ Roll lubes, MaXalami tubeless tyre repair kits and Italian exotic component brand Carbon-Ti.
